Dr. Joseph Fisher Presented “Understanding Culture”
Dr. Joseph Fisher, director of the consulting network at Human Synergistics
International, presented “Understanding Culture as a Critical Component
of Lasting Change” at the Central Ohio Workplace Learning &
Performance Conference & Expo on November 9, 2006 in Columbus, OH.
Dr. Fisher’s presentation at the conference, hosted by the Central Ohio
Chapter of the American Society for Training & Development, described how
organizational culture is formed, measured and changed. He explained the
differences between Aggressive/Defensive, Passive/Defensive and Constructive
cultural styles and how these styles impact organizations.
Participants were given the opportunity to describe their perception of an Ideal
Culture.
Dr. Fisher was president of Human Synergistics from 1976 to 1986, and recently
returned as director of Human Synergistics’ Consulting Network. An expert
on the cultural change process, Dr. Fisher’s experience spans a wide
variety of industries and companies including: Schering Plough, the Federal
Aviation Administration, Fisons PLC, Lockheed, Pfizer, the American Pharmacist
Association, the University of Maryland Medical School, Buick Motor Company, GM
Design Center, and GM Sales and Marketing of Europe.
