Acumen Team WorkStyles™ (TWS)

Building on the Life Styles Inventory (LSI), TWS develops individual team members' personal styles to provide the foundation for effective teamwork, collaboration, and synergy. While people are often expected to simply adjust to the demands of teamwork, the reality is that most are better able to make the transition with training, development, and the type of feedback provided by TWS. 

Audience: Any temporary or permanent group or team responsible for solving problems and making decisions

Most Frequently Used for:

• Providing a visual of one's self-perceptions compared with those by others
• Lending insight into how their combination of styles affects other members and the team as a whole
• Giving team members a personal road map for developing positive interaction styles

Time Required: 15-30 minutes to complete the inventory

Format: Paper Computer-Scored; Online

Feedback Provided: The results of Self and Others' reports on personal orientations (Constructive (Satisfaction), Passive/Defensive (People/Security), and Aggressive/Defensive (Task/Security)) and 12 specific thinking and behavioural styles associated with these orientations; Descriptive analysis of the individual in terms of his/her particular combination of styles, including how the world shapes their motivations and priorities, how they lead or follow other people, and how they work with others

Presentation of Results: A comprehensive, personalised feedback report that includes circumplexes, interpretations of self and others' perceptions, spread of opinion profile, suggestions for development, and comments from others

Associated Outcomes: Research shows that the Acumen WorkStyles and LSI styles are related to important indicators of individual effectiveness including quality of interpersonal relations, openness to feedback, stress, salary, and organisational level.
